Procurement Officer, WWF-Laos

 

Position title:  Procurement Officer, WWF-Laos

Location:         Vientiane Capital – with extensive travel to the sites.

Duration:         6 months.

Open for:         Lao national

 

Procurement Officer is in charge of contracting services and manage the purchases of supplies, equipment, materials and all other procurement requirements of the whole office programme activities. He/she has to make sure that all of the procurement process are aligned with procurement policy.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintains procurement tracker file to make sure that all PRs are fully tracking there and up to date.
  • Maintains and review purchasing, shipping and receiving records- e.g. PR, PO, RFQ, GRN, Tenders.
  • Ensure completion of procurement process within reasonable period of time.
  • Providing guidance and orientation of procurement policies and procedures.
  • Maintains supplier’s data base and register.
  • Maintains Trusted Suppliers file up to date
  • Conduct regular annual market survey and match against existing Trusted Suppliers prices to ensure best buy value for money.
  • Prepare procurement related documents in line with the WWF’s applicable policies and procedures as well as donor requirements, if any – e.g. RFQ, Tender documents, PO, Contract.
  • Prepare PRF with full procurement documents to Finance department for payment process.
  • Conduct procurement spot check to access accuracy of procurement practices of all field offices and provide proper report to procurement manager.
  • Performs all other function or task assigned as may be necessary to achieve departmental goals especially during peak reporting period and meeting tight deadlines.

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Procurement and Supply chain management, Business administration, Business law, Accounting and Finance or equivalent degrees.
  • Excellent in English language both reading, listening and oral and written communication.
  • Good at MS Office and Office Management Systems.
  • 2 years of practical experience in procurement and/or supply chain management or similar relevant fields. Experience of procurement tasks with INGO is plus.

 

Other qualifications required

  • Very good written and spoken English and Lao languages.
  • Proven ability to work in a multicultural environment

  • Willing to learn and continue to learn
